The Board of Directors of the Mill Creek Canyon Firesafe Council, DBA FireSafe38.org, is made up of community volunteers committed to wildfire preparedness, public safety, and protecting the future of our mountain communities. The board works alongside advisors, fire service professionals, and community supporters to encourage education, collaboration, and practical solutions that strengthen wildfire resilience throughout Mill Creek Canyon and the surrounding Highway 38 communities

FireSafe38.org, The Mill Creek Canyon Firesafe Council, supports safer, wildfire prepared and resilient mountain communities through education, collaboration, defensible space awareness, fuel reduction efforts, emergency readiness, and practical community action that helps protect lives, homes, forests, and future generations.

We envision connected, informed, and wildfire prepared mountain communities where neighbors help neighbors protect the people, homes, forests, and mountain way of life that make the 38 Communities home.


Board Advisor:
Frank Sexton brings 51 years of fire service and emergency response experience, serving as a Firefighter, Paramedic, Captain, and State Certified Chief Officer.
He has trained others in Wildland Fire Tactics, Fire Weather, and the Incident Command System, combining hands-on field experience with practical instruction.
As a board advisor to the Mill Creek Canyon Firesafe Council, he provides grounded, real-world perspective to support decisions that strengthen community safety.
